Paul Talbot's often neglected & badly written Blog

RSS to Html

I’ve been looking for a simple way to incorporate (and style) parts of this blog into my cute*creative site. Basically I want to “pick-up” an excerpt from the feed, style it as if it were html and then position it on my site 3 columns in.

I’m pretty certain that I don’t have the necessary skills to write my own script to get the job done so, after some late night googling, I found (imo) the best solution. There are plenty of RSS to HTML generators out there, but I found that most of them either don’t work or are just too limited to be really usable. The best of the ones I found is here.

My favorite solution, however, is a Dreamweaver extension called PHP RSS by J. Andres Cayon. It’s free, really simple to set up and after a few false starts – mainly due to me being unable to get the correct URL for my feed – this blog now feeds the cute*creative site with the latest excerpt. Cool!
